The AERO.NEXT Portugal Agenda aims to reinforce Portugal’s position within the aeronautical value chain and consolidate its associated cluster by developing complete, complex and high value-added products. To this end, it will ensure Portugal’s capability across the phases of design, development, industrialisation and commercialisation, establishing the country as a relevant decision-making centre in aeronautics, reducing external dependence and generating strong spillover effects in the national economy.
It brings together a broad set of entities with strong and complementary competencies for the development of the aeronautical ecosystem, promoting innovation grounded in deep market knowledge and aligned with the paradigms of the Digital Transition and Climate Transition. It maximises existing national assets and promotes investment across multiple NUTS2 regions, notably the Alentejo, contributing positively to territorial cohesion.

The AERO.NEXT Mobilising Agenda focuses on the aeronautical sector, aiming to develop complete aeronautical programmes in Portugal.
It offers three distinct products: A light regional manned aircraft with capacity for 19 passengers, 2000 kg of cargo and 2000 km range; An unmanned aircraft capable of maritime surveillance operations; An Advanced Air Mobility service.

It will also provide two services: Pro Aero 3D, production of certifiable components using additive manufacturing; UAS Pilot Training, a training programme for Armed Forces pilots on Class III unmanned platforms.
