PUMA SA-330 As well as being able to carry out full P2 / P4 overhauls to the airframe, OGMA has the capacity and capability to carry out extensive repairs and the engineering staff to design and install both structural and avionic updates. The company is fully qualified by Turbomeca to repair, overhaul and update the Turmo III C4 and IV C engines and to carry out medium level maintenance (up to 500 hour inspections) on the Makilla engines of aircraft with that engine installed. OGMA carries out overhaul of the main rotor heads and of the tail rotor drive shafts in it’s extensive workshops, as well as overhaul of all mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components installed in the aircraft. Class 1 and 2 repairs can be carried out in-house on both Main and Tail Rotor blades. Rotor dynamic balancing can be performed using the modern test equipment and improved techniques developed at OGMA and approved by Eurocopter. Updates performed by OGMA include re-engining aircraft with Turbomeca Makila on behalf of two operators (one of which was for a fleet of three Presidential aircraft, carried out in the customer’s country). This update includes not simply the engine change but also replacement of the tail rotor with the newer composite component and considerable airframe reinforcement. Avionics updates have also been performed on behalf of export customers. OGMA welcomes enquiries for Eurocopter Puma support both at our factory in Alverca, Portugal and at operator’s locations.

Allouette II/III Today that expertise is available to all AS315, AS316 and AS319 operators. OGMA can literally reduce the aircraft to its component parts and rebuild everything. The company can repair and rejig, remanufacture or even replace, if necessary, the whole main structural frame of the aircraft. Of course, as an approved maintenance centre, all of this work is carried out with the full approval of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Not only can OGMA repair 100% of the structure – the company can overhaul and test the Turbomeca Artouste III engine; overhaul and test the main and tail rotor gearboxes; overhaul and test the main and tail rotor heads and all accessories – making OGMA a true One-Stop-Shop for this aircraft type. Not all aircraft need such extensive rebuilding and OGMA will gladly perform periodic inspections such T1 and T2 and the “Grande Visite” (GV), carry out special inspections and fulfill technical instructions to the same high standards. All work is carried out in accordance with current editions of the manufacturer’s manuals, using high quality parts from the OEM and other reputable and certified sources. In common with all other parts of the company, the helicopter division is now subject to continuous improvement policies in order to offer the customer ever-decreasing Turn-Around-Times at the best possible price, without any reduction in the outstanding quality for which OGMA is best known. |
